New line of FW - AMP (r13)

The second issue I have observed on mine too. Scrolling up and down some movies retain the cover art from the line above/below.
Like I said earlier, I also noticed unless the folder.jpg cover art files are of small enough size, the device (O!Play in my case) may spontaneously reboot. I used a batch conversion program (irfanview thumbnails) to edit the size of the folder.jpg files to just 15kb per and it fixed the issue.

Hi hecatomb,
thanks for your reply.
I try to explain the first point. I have a lot of tv-shows and they are all ordered like this: Tv-show xy/Season xy/Episode xy/Episode.mkv
I have an thumbnail for the tv-show itself (0000.jpg, i don't know why but on my device only this works as folder thumbnail) and a so called "series-sheet" (0001.jpg). That's a description of this tv-show. You know, something like "xyz is an american tv-show blablabla" :D. With Amp R7 i could change the view to the second option (where the 0001.jpg sheet is displayed, not the thumbnail view) and could, when change into the folder with the seasons folder. The view got changed back then to thumbnail view but it was possible to change into this folder. With R8 i can't change into the subfolders anymore, when the second view (the series-sheet, 0001.jpg) is activated.

For the second issue: I don't have had any reboots until now. I think my thumbnails are small enough in size because they get generated by Thumbgen.

One question i got yet: What is the difference between the AMP and the HD2 firmware? Only the integrated moservices or something that would make sense to change from AMP to HD2?

Kind regards
Basti

AMP is the new core of firmware, but there are big differences between the HD2 and POHD skins. POHD is much more pleasant to look at and supports a lot more visually. HD2 has the opera browser, but it has very limited functionality.

As for your template issue, might it have anything to do with your folder thumbs being 0000.jpg with r8? In r7, mine had issue with this and with r8 they have to be called folder.jpg in each respective show/movie folder for it to work properly. Might be way off base here again, because it sounds like you have quite the nested folder structure (show/season/ep) etc.

Hi hecatomb,

thanks for ypur reply.
So AMP should be the first choice if i understood your answer right ;)

Because of my "issue": Hmm, i will give it a try. With r7 the only way of getting the thumbnail and the sheet working was to call the thumb 0000.jpg and the sheet 0001.jpg.
All other naming only had the effect that the sheet was beeing showed as thumbnail. It seemed as if the mediaplayer would always take the picture with the lowest alphabeticaly order as thumbnail.
I've read about naming the one folder.jpg and the sheet about.jpg but even that could not solute the problem.
As i said the only way of getting it working was to call the thumb 0000.jpg and the sheet 0001.jpg.
And in r7 i could change into a subfolder when in sheet view (the 0001.jpg one ;) ).
What would be interessting for me to now is if it's intended that you can't switch to the next movie file while playing one if they are in separate folders using the "next chapter" button?
The player just returns to the overview of the current folder :(

Kind regards

Will this work with any player? Even the HDP-R1?
BTW, can someone post a picture of that skin?
TIA

This skin is not hacked - it's a a clipping from oficial FW for xTr Pro.
