I have original (not beta) HD2 FW. I installed on my HDP-R1 and working etc..but i tried to make bigger root in configuration.xml and nothing. I set up, but not change. Have you any idea why?

Thanks!
Janaboy

Where you found original HD2 FW?!
If root image is squash, you don't change it's size - it's really Read-Only filesystem. install_a ignore <sizeBytesMin> tag in configuration.xml
Repack root image to yaffs2

One of my friend bought an HD2, have issues and asus give him link. Its full with nand bin, bootcode, rescue.bin etc.

Please give it to Farvoice, so all of us can extract somthing good.

P.S: i installed the beta HD2, all ok, but cover views only works in folders.
There are not possibility to delete, move or copy files.
NAS do not work for me, it hangs on the Asus.

Official FW for HD2 has 1.10.02 version, ie earlier than beta from Jarre
But the problem with missing keys on Remote Control we will soon decide ;)

Hi,

First at all I'm not a pro, I just tried to use my very little linux knowleadge on Oplay :)

For metafeeds I did the follownig:
1. telnet into box
2. remount root for writing( mount / -o remount,rw). (Thanks for Farvoice FW, it's possible this)
3. search for menu.rss under /usr/local/bin/scripts node.
4. edit (using vi command) and search for end of file what looks like this:

........

add here the following lines (above '
'):

My videos

where xxxxx has to be your metafeeds username. Maybe if you use just
http://www.metafeeds.com/ than you get the main channel. I didn't checked this.
'My videos' - will be the menu label, you can name it how you like it.
the image/ims_rss.png not exist in my case, but just you won't get any picture in menu. If you want, just upload one:)
5. Save menu.rss and here we go. In Online menu you will find the new menu option at the end.

For me worked.
I really missed this :)

Hello

I have an Asus Oplay HDP-R1 with Bootcode 17 and would like to install the Firmware from Jarre on my Oplay.

In this forum I have read, with bootcode 17 I can`t simply return to a other Firmware.

When I will return I have 3 ways.

1. I must upgrade my Bootcode with serial cable  ( this is to difficult for me)

or

2. Soft Reset for Players with bootcode 17
Code: Select all

or

3Update Bootcode without cable
Code: Select all
http://translate.googleusercontent.com/translate_c?hl=de&ie=UTF-8&sl=en&tl=de&u=http://www.moservices.org/forum/viewtopic.php%3Ff%3D12%26t%3D98%26sid%3D81a7b2c04f9f9871b7568881a4f44075&prev=_t&rurl=translate.google.de&usg=ALkJrhgJEu_oU6gUZNQ9h-FR6CzNVwXnxQ

What for a firmware must be installed when I used this method?

What is the safest method ?

If you don't want to upgrade bootcode, the safest method is Soft Reset.
If you decide to upgrade bootcode (although nothing terrible in this), then your path - update bootcode without cable.
Just remember - bootcode for PAL

Hi all!

I have updated my firmware to the one from Jarre (upgraded bootcode to 23 first). Everything is looking really good, so far! My question is: can I use the attached USB external hard drive with the built-in torrent? If yes, how so?

Thanks,

Kev

In this FW version built-in torrent doesn't work. Wait for next FW versions.

Hey,

is there a way to adjust skip duration time or add network shortcuts ona hd2 beta in other way than setting this things up in previous (R1/R3) firmware and flashing h2d firmare through system menu?
are there any drawbacks of not using
Code: Select all
echo " " | dd of=/dev/mtdblock/0 bs=2048 seek=8192
command while upgradeing from R1->HD2 ? couse standard 10 minute skip is rather unuseable and i can't find a way to add custom shortcut on clean hd2beta firmware

greets form Poland :]
